When you define a class in one file and want to use it in another, you need to import that class. Python provides a way to make the classes and other code elements from one module accessible in another module through the import mechanism. The basic import statement is used to bring an entire module into the current namespace.

Over the years, I’ve learned these best practices when importing classes: Use explicit imports (from module import Class) instead of *. Keep related classes in the same file, but avoid overloading one file with too many classes.

To import a class from another file/module in Python, we can use the import keyword followed by the name of the module or file where the class is defined, and then access the class using the dot syntax. Suppose we have a module my_module.py with a class MyClass defined inside it.

In the main.py file, to import the other 2 files, we will use the following syntax. The main.py file used in the example is as follows. Here we use the from keyword to define the file from which we are importing a class method; then we import the class by following its name with the import keyword. <sub-dir>.<filename>
