Authorities in Texas say at least 82 people have died in devastating flooding in Texas. They include a 68-year-old camp director, an Alabama elementary student away for the summer and a grandparent who had been reported missing while on her way to work.

Summer camp in the flood-prone Hill Country has long been a rite of passage for young people from Texas and beyond.

Authorities said at least 24 people have died in flooding around Kerr County, Texas, and officials are still performing water rescues.
