A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Phoenix at 9:22 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.

The Woods Fire started Aug. 13, although its origin was unknown and being investigation, the Sedona Fire Department said.

"Commissioner Cole shall assume all of the powers and duties vested in the District of Columbia Chief of Police," Pam Bondi said on Aug. 14.
