The Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda have signed a peace deal facilitated by the U.S. to help end the decades-long, deadly fighting in eastern Congo.

The agreement outlines provisions for the "respect for territorial integrity and halting hosilities" in eastern DRC but are still to be implemented.

The deal demands the "disengagement, disarmament and conditional integration" of armed groups fighting in eastern DR Congo.
