With nearly all of the aerial shells, paper rockets and sparkly fountains that fuel America’s Fourth of July celebrations being imported from China, volunteer groups like Johnson’s and cities big and small have been closely watching the negotiations.

Crews were outside Nissan Stadium on Saturday, bracing the rain and getting things in place for the one of the country’s largest Fourth of July displays.

Metro officials, nonprofit agencies and around 50 to 60 residents of a camp along the Cumberland River near Nissan Stadium are quickly working to relocate people out of concern that their tents are in the path of the planned Fourth of July fireworks show downtown.
