The Boston Red Sox will not have their starting first baseman for the rest of the 2025 Major League Baseball season. Triston Casas suffered a serious knee injury that will keep them out of action for the rest of the season.

The Boston Red Sox will be without Triston Casas for the rest of the season after he ruptured his left patellar tendon and underwent surgery. They could fill their hole at first base through a trade with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Red Sox announced Sunday that Casas had suffered a ruptured patellar tendon during a Friday win over the Minnesota Twins. Casas, who was limited to 63 games in 2023 after suffering torn cartilage in his rib cage, had batted .182 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in his first 29 games of the 2024 season.
