Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has added new animated characters called “Companions” to its chatbot, Grok, for paying users of SuperGrok. These characters are avatars that you can talk to, and the first two available are Ani, an anime-style girl, and Rudy, a cartoon red panda.

In a tweet, Musk said the kid-friendly version of its Grok AI chatbot is designed to provide safe and educational content for children. The announcement follows criticism of Grok's more adult offerings, including an AI avatar named Ani that was reported to engage in flirtatious dialogue and suggestive actions, even with 'Kids Mode' enabled.
