Google heralds the end of Google Assistant in the smart home. From October, "Gemini for Home" will land on Nest devices.

Four years after launching the original Pixel Buds A-series, Google’s back with the Pixel Buds 2A. The new budget buds are $30 more expensive at $129.99, but add some notable updates like an upgraded chip, Gemini access, a replaceable battery, and most importantly, active noise cancellation.

Somewhat lost in today’s flurry of Pixel news across hardware, software, and services, Google also said that it’s bringing Gemini to Google Home.

Google’s new devices, shipping this month, claim to do a lot of what “Apple Intelligence” promised to do last year, but so far hasn’t.

The move by Google and Oracle signals a future in which AI is no longer locked to a single provider’s platform.

Google Docs will now let you generate an audio version of your documents using AI. In a post announcing the rollout, Google says you can customize Gemini’s AI audio output with different voices and playback speeds.
