Around 20 decomposing bodies were discovered in a hidden room concealed by a cardboard display at Davis Mortuary in Pueblo. Now families are concerned that what they believed to be cremains of their loved ones may not be what they thought.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Friday called for a county coroner to resign immediately after state inspectors found about 20 decomposing bodies behind a hidden door in a funeral home he owned.

The state has also moved funds — $300,000 initially — from the state’s emergency reserves to aid in Pueblo County’s efforts.
