Flacco was the Ravens' first draft pick of the Harbaugh era, as they selected him No. 17 overall out of Delaware in 2008. The two immediately helped Baltimore make it to the AFC Championship Game in their first season, and of course win Super Bowl XLVII four years after that.
The third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft made his preseason debut in Saturday's contest with the Eagles ,finishing 13 of 18 for 143 yards with an interception, which was returned for a 75-yard touchdown by Andrew Mukuba, ending his day with a 72.2 passer rating.
Flacco, who is entering his 18th NFL season, will also start in the team's preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams at home on Saturday. Coach Kevin Stefanski said he would treat the game as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. Flacco did not play in Cleveland's first two preseason games. The Browns host the Cincinnati Bengals Week 1.
Joe Flacco will be the team's Week 1 starter. Deshaun Watson is on the roster, but isn't expected to play against for the Browns. Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel are potential options, but none of them are proven.
