The Philadelphia Eagles made a momentous announcement Wednesday that will forever enshrine two champions in franchise history. Malcolm Jenkins, the beloved safety who helped deliver the city’s first Super Bowl championship,
Cornerback is still a need because nobody ran away with the CB2 job. The starter across from Quinyon Mitchell — Adoree’ Jackson or Jakorian Bennett — could be the defense’s biggest liability. The Eagles’ recent trade for Bennett shouldn’t stop them from upgrading the position.
Hurts has reached the playoffs in each of his first four seasons as the Eagles’ full-time starter. He has been to two of the last three Super Bowls and played mostly brilliantly in both, including winning it all seven months ago, earning the game’s MVP while bringing home Philadelphia’s second Lombardi Trophy.
Fans are fans for a reason, though. It's easy to see why some Philadelphia fans (not all of them) might have expressed interest, but the Eagles drafted Carson Wentz. They eventually won a Super Bowl (LII), and we strangely never discussed Joe Flacco as an Eagle ever again. That is, until he joined the Eagles for a brief spell in 2021.
