What's a verification code, and why are they so important? Six-digit verification codes are a form of two-factor authentication, a process that helps keep your important online accounts secure.
You can activate it by going to Settings > Account > Two-Step Verification in the app. This requires you to set up a personal PIN, and a six-digit code.
That means you can use a USB-C, Lightning, or NFC dongle as the second factor of authentication instead of the six-digit verification code Apple usually sends to another device.
Then, they contact you, claiming they found your pet, and send you a six-digit verification code. The scammer asks you to provide the code back to them to prove your identity.
Select your country and input your phone number. Click Get Code and wait to receive your verification code. Enter the six-digit verification code that you received and click Submit.
