Google bumped Flutter, their massively cross-platform app SDK, to version 2.0, adding stable support for web apps and sound null safety.

Sound null safety is now the default for new projects, adding protection against null reference exceptions and enabling developers to express non-nullable types in their code.

All the top 250 Flutter and Dart libraries migrated to null safety, and only 2% of the top 1,000 libraries have not. More than 80% of all Flutter applications run in July 2022 used sound null safety.

The latest version of the programming language Dart is now available. Dart 2.12 includes stable versions of sound null safety and Dart FFI.
