Microsoft's PowerToys just received an update to version 0.58.0. The app now uses WebView 2 rather than WebBrowser controls when previewing certain files and runs on .NET 6.

I've never used the WebBrowser control, but it sounds to me like it's not focusing your elements unless the WebBrowser control itself has focus. That would explain why it works with the alert box ...
