Microsoft's Visual Studio Live Share, now in preview, allows Visual Studio and VS Code programmers to collaborate using their languages and frameworks of choice.
Linux support, the most-requested feature for Visual Studio Code Live Share -- which allows real-time collaboration among developers on different machines and platforms -- was announced this week.
Visual Studio Live Share lets two developers using the same language collaborate. Microsoft initially is optimizing Visual Studio Live Code for C# and JavaScript/Typescript files.
You can use your existing Visual Studio account with Live Share, or you can sign in with a new account if you want to keep Visual Studio and Live Share separate.
Microsoft introduced Visual Studio Live Share to allow dev teams to interactively collaborate by sharing code to edit and debug, troubleshoot, iterate or optimize apps, along with other preview tools.
