Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit 3 will give app developers for HoloLens devices better performance while also having a smaller memory footprint, along with improvements in its user interface.

Microsoft introduced the HoloLens 2 Developer edition which will be available for as little as $99 per month for developers.

HoloLens 2 was primarily targeted at enterprise customers but just months ago opened the doors to anyone who can afford that $3,500 price tag.
