And they did… which brings us to CrossOver 19 which was released this week. The update allows 32-bit code to run in 64-bit processes and make calls to 64-bit system libraries.

VirtualBox is flexible enough to handle many types of 32-bit and 64-bit configurations. If you need to run a 32-bit version of XP in a 64-bit host, you can do that without any problems.

For now, a crisis seems to have been averted. But for how long? At what point will it be acceptable to finally remove the ability to natively run 32-bit software from modern operating systems?
