Sonic the Hedgehog, who underwent his own 3D makeover, also features in a 2D side-scroller game called “Sonic Superstars”, released on October 17th. The retro fashion goes beyond gaming.

Japanese developer Inti Creates (known for series like Mega Man Zero and Azure Striker Gunvolt) has today announced a new 2D action side-scrolling game called Umbraclaw.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. game in more than 10 years, filled with rollicking new gameplay, new power-ups and transformative Wonder effects.

Like Blasphemous, Ragebound is a 2D side-scroller, and also like Blasphemous it's gorgeous, though this time the slick pixel-art pops with colour instead of seething with grimdarkness.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the best games of 2023 so far, but now fans have created another take on the survival horror classic. This time, Resident Evil 4 is now a 2D run-and-gun shooter.
