Nearly two years after an ax-wielding man was shot and killed by a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer, attorneys for the family of that man, Kevin Mahan, have filed a federal lawsuit.

The District Attorney's Office is asking for the Federal Bureau of Investigation file of a convicted killer as it leads up to the trial in the 40-year-old Brighton ax murder.
