Microsoft and Linux are adding AI and Rust to their pipelines. Microsoft is leaning much harder into AI development than Linux. Both are expanding Rust, but neither OS will be fully Rust soon.

Some developers don't like Rust, but Linus approves of it becoming a mainstream part of the Linux kernel. Torvalds thinks AI's best use may be to help get young developers excited about programming.
