Global online platform Roblox announced on Tuesday (Nov. 10) that the company is partnering with Lil Nas X and Columbia Records for an innovative virtual concert.

Joining the likes of Travis Scott and J Balvin, Lil Nas X will be playing a virtual show on Roblox on Friday, fresh off a new music release.

The Lil Nas X show last weekend was the company's first real attempt to rival Fortnite as an event space, and the experiment bore fruit—the two concerts had a cumulative viewership of 33 million.

The site reported that Roblox Corp, Lil Nas X, and his label, Columbia Records, spent nearly eight months working on nailing down the specifics of the in-game concert.
