Microsoft 365 is now complete: ActiveX is being turned off ActiveX follows Flash. The risky plug-ins will soon no longer work by default in Microsoft 365 apps.
It's been quiet for a while, but ActiveX is still around. Upcoming Microsoft Office versions will finally switch off support. At least almost.
The updates will include a fix for a widely reported vulnerability in Microsoft Word, as well as changes to the way Internet Explorer (IE) handles ActiveX that might cause headaches for some.
