AI tools have arrived in two of the most basic and long-serving Windows utilities. Here’s what they do and how you can turn them off if you prefer.

Generative AI image-creation tools are showing up in all kinds of software, and they’ve now come to the venerable and simple Microsoft Paint program that’s included with Windows.

If you want to remove an Image Background using the Paint app in Windows 11, click on Remove background > Eraser from the Image section.

Using Paint As a third option, you can also use the Paint program for cropping. Right-click on the image file in Explorer and go to Edit with Paint.
