Open the HEIC file in Preview: Preview is a default application on all Macs. To open your HEIC file, right-click on the file, select ‘Open With’, and then choose ‘Preview’.

If you try to open an HEIC file and get a popup message asking how you want to open it, make sure the box next to Always use this app to open .heic files is checked and select Photos.

On your PC, go to their website, click on the HEIC to JPG tab, upload your HEIC file, hit convert and download the JPG image. Got a tip? Share confidential information with Forbes.

Choose File, point to Open With, and then select Preview. Or, to open photos in iCloud Drive, click iCloud Drive in the Finder sidebar, and then double-click a photo to open it.
