Here is a free and open-source tool to write a raw disk image file to a removable device (say USB or flash drive). The tool is named Win32 Disk Imager.
iPhones can capture photos and video in high-efficiency formats which is great for image quality but can be a headache to open on your Windows PC.
So I thought I'd use the MS Windows 7 USB/DVD installer tool to make a bootable flash drive of the .IMG file. Unfortunately, the tool only works with ISO's not IMG's. Next I tried Win32 Disk Imager.
Windows is frustrating, nuff said. How does an Apple Disk Image file, aka .DMG, not being able to open natively on Windows make Windows frustrating?
