This post will show you how to open an elevated PowerShell prompt window, and run it as an Administrator, with elevated privileges in Windows 11/10.
To launch an elevated PowerShell prompt, click on the 'Windows PowerShell (Admin)' option. Windows 10 will now display a UAC prompt asking if you want to give the program elevated permissions.
Windows PowerShell is a newer program that's similar to Command Prompt. And in some versions of Windows 10, it replaces Command Prompt in the menus you'd usually use to open it.
It already replaces Windows PowerShell in the Quick Links (WinX) menu (the right-click menu on the Start menu button) there, and today we will show you how to do this in Windows 10 too.
Alternatively, you can use the Taskbar search box to find out Windows Terminal, right-click on it and select the Run as administrator option. As usual, click the Yes option.
