Unreal Engine 5.4 is here and its a big update full of good things for gamers, with several performance improvements targeting 60+ FPS gaming.

Do not adjust your screen: All of the images and videos that you see in this story were generated in real-time using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), at decent frame rates (~30-60 fps) on a mid-range gaming PC.

Screnshotting works in windowed mode, but I struggled to get the engine to reliably open up in a window. UE4 Effects Cave demo. This one lowered my average FPS to around 30, at 1920x1200.

The latest version of Unreal Engine, among other things, targets a goal of 60 FPS for its high-end graphics technology.
