Windows Explorer, the native file manager in Windows, can extract data from ZIP files but it does not open RARs. You need a third-party application to extract the contents of a RAR file.

With the built-in file manager, you can search for files uploaded from specific users, in specific channels, during specific date ranges, by file type, and more.

Windows ME/XP/2003 have built in ZIP file support. It is therefore, very easy to make and extract ZIP files using these operating systems.

Windows 95/98/2000 does not have have built in ZIP file support. It is therefore necessary to use a 3rd party software to create and extract ZIP files.

If you need only to extract individual files within a zip file, double-click the zip file and drag and drop the individual files you need from the zip window to the file manager.
