To add notes to your PowerPoint, you'll need to have your presentation set to "Normal" view before accessing the "Notes" button for individual slides.

How to add a slide A blank presentation in PowerPoint starts you off with a main slide. You’ll notice a text box at the top for the title and one beneath for the subtitle.
Note that typing in the note section won't be reflected at all on the slide. Add any other additional speaker notes as desired.
Open PowerPoint and launch the presentation for which you want to take notes. Click in the area below the slide, where it says "Click to Add Notes," and start typing your notes.
