Microsoft has started testing AI-powered Notepad text rewriting and Paint image generation tools four decades after the two programs were released in the 1980s.

Microsoft is now testing an AI-powered text summarization feature in Notepad and a Snipping Tool "Draw & Hold" feature that helps draw perfect shapes.

The latest product to get an AI upgrade seems to be Notepad, as leaks indicate that Microsoft could be adding a new feature called “Cowriter” to help users with text manipulation.
