If you cannot delete a file or a folder on an NTFS file system volume in Windows, follow the solutions mentioned in this post to resolve the issue.
Windows won't let you delete, move, or rename a file if a program is using it. Frustratingly, it also won't tell you which program is using the file so that you can solve the problem.
Then I typed "fsutil reparsepoint delete <file name>" (without the quotes) then hit enter. I was then able to go back to the file and delete it normally. Not open for further replies.
