So I thought I'd use the MS Windows 7 USB/DVD installer tool to make a bootable flash drive of the .IMG file. Unfortunately, the tool only works with ISO's not IMG's. Next I tried Win32 Disk Imager.
Isn't a Vmware/VirtualPC disk image file what you need? Added bonus that the virtualization will have it all mounted and ready.
Alternatively, if you have backed up copies of the files on the disk image, you can create a new disk image and copy the files to it as described in Knowledge Base article #305111. Feedback?
