Wentz has been sacked 40 times, which puts him on pace for 64 this year. That would be the fourth most in NFL history, behind David Carr twice (76 in 2002 and 68 in 2005) and Cunningham in 1986 (72).

In 2017, Carson Wentz emerged as a leading NFL MVP candidate with a stellar start. In the first five games, he threw for 1,362 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just three interceptions.

Then in the spring of 2019, the Eagles gave Wentz a franchise-record contract at the time only to draft Hurts in the second round a year later. And then the wheels came off, so to speak, for Wentz.
