An interesting Arduino project has been published to the Instructables website showing how an Arduino CNC shield and controller has been used to create an awesome 3 axis Arduino CNC plotter.

Arduino-Nano-GRBL-Shield This CNC Shield was designed to replace a "Stepper Bricklet" from Tinkerforge. It is much larger in size, but the four screw holes are compatible in size and placement.

In fact, if your 3D printed parts look good enough, this could probably pass for a commercial product. For the electronics, the plotter uses an Arduino Uno and a matching CNC Shield.
