Android Studio, the integrated development environment (IDE) for Android app developers, is getting an AI upgrade, Google announced at its developer conference, Google I/O 2025.

With the latest Android 16 QPR beta and June Google Play System Update, Google has redesigned one of the most pervasive features in Android.

The new feature, called Agent Mode, is part of Gemini in Android Studio, the company’s development environment for designing, building and testing applications for Android smartphones.
