Microsoft shipped Visual Studio 2019 v16.10 and the first preview of v16.11 during the start of the Build 2021 developer conference.

Microsoft announced a new data access driver for SQL Server that should be the path forward for data developers in the era of .NET Core.

To remain supported, Microsoft emphasizes that users must be on the latest version 16.11 release of Visual Studio 2019. The preview channel of Visual Studio 2019 is also no longer receiving updates.

Microsoft said its compiler and standard library are feature-complete for C++ 20 in Visual Studio 2019 16.10, while a 16.11 preview centers on Hot Reload and .NET MAUI.
