Elon Musk's SpaceX on Sunday called off the launch of Starship's tenth mission from Texas over an issue at its launch site, delaying an attempt to achieve several long-sought development milestones missed due to past tests ending in early failures.

Starship's 10th flight test was scheduled to lift off from SpaceX's Starbase launch site in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The company has yet to successfully complete a mission for the the stainless-steel spacecraft, which is being engineered to be fully reusable and would be able to carry up to 100 people to deep space destinations.

The SpaceX Starship launch scheduled for Aug. 24 was cancelled due to "an issue with ground systems," the company posted on X shortly before the anticipated launch time. The scheduled launch had reached the propellant load for the rocket's super-heavy booster,
