Jaxson Dart is making quite the impression throughout the preseason, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported. The former Ole Miss QB was drafted as the future of the New York Giants, but that future could be coming sooner than people think.

It was the Jaxson Dart show at MetLife Stadium on Saturday night. The rookie quarterback completed 14-of-16 pass attempts for 137 yards and a touchdown to tight end Greg Dulcich. He also ran the ball twice for five yards and a rushing touchdown to help lead the Giants to a 31-12 win over their cross-city rival Jets.

Second TD catch of the night for Troy Franklin, who puts an exclamation mark on what has been a fantastic offseason. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen a player have such a wholesale improvement from one camp to the next like Franklin has this year.

Once the regular season begins those strides will continue to be taken by Dart behind the scenes, in meetings and practices away from the scrutiny of media and the fans. That, though, won’t last forever. Dart’s time is coming.
