Daniel Jones is an NFL starter once again. Jones won the Indianapolis Colts ’ quarterback job over Anthony Richardson, head coach Shane Steichen announced Tuesday. “He’s our starting quarterback for the season,” Steichen said. “I don’t want to have a quick leash on that. I feel confident in his abilities.”

When Colts head coach Shane Steichen named Jones the winner of the starting quarterback job on Tuesday, he cited the veteran’s mastery of the offensive system, even though Anthony Richardson had a two-year head start playing in Steichen’s scheme.

Daniel Jones is in his seventh NFL season but first with the Colts. Anthony Richardson is in his third season after being drafted by the Colts.
