Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (ankle) is still not close to a return from the injury that ended his 2024 season in Week 7. The veteran required another offseason procedure, and the team now expects him to miss at least the first month of the season on the PUP list.

Doubling down at wide receiver this offseason by re-signing Chris Godwin and drafting Emeka Egbuka, the Buccaneers had the makings of one of the deepest receiving groups in recent NFL history. They will not open the season with their full arsenal.

Wide receiver Jalen McMillan was placed on injured reserve, meaning he will not be able to play until Week 5 at a minimum. ESPN's Jenna Laine reports, though, that McMillan could more than likely be out until after the Bucs bye Week, which would have him return in November.
